Sharna possesses an affinity for pop culture and draws on inspiration from contemporary art, neo-graffiti, and modern calligraphy. It was upon discovering the work of Cy Twombly that she became captivated, and she has been working with abstract forms ever since.
Acrylics are her preferred medium, ensuring the gestural markings she applies remain fluid and chaotic. Cathartically translating her lingering wounds, unspoken residual sentiments, and welcome recollections through her art.
Sharna's career in graphic design spans over twenty years, and she is also an accomplished lettering artist. She was taught the fundamentals of art at a young age by relatives from her large family. After high school, she began her creative career as a special effects and cinematic makeup artist and studied art and photography at QCA and Griffith University.
Sharna is based on the southern Gold Coast with her husband and children.
